Inventions






Today we will be researching famous inventions that have made a difference to humankind.

A
Think about the most important 10 inventions of all time


This could be technological (mobile phone etc), medicine (test tube babies etc), a revolutionary service (like braille), products (like make up, shampoo, deodorant, scissors)

Discuss with a partner. Write down yout top ten and share with another group

Introduce the Project
What would life be like without
inventions?

Because we are
surrounded by technology, begin by
focusing on inventions we use every day.(computers, mobiles, cars etc)
Then, think of
inventions that are not related to
computers. After brainstorming several
inventions, describe how lives might be different without them.

Research the Inventor/Invention

Choose an inventor/invention you wish to research.

Open a word document
Write a fact sheet/poster on the invention and inventor
INCLUDE who, what,
when, where, and how information about
the inventors/inventions. Describe the historical,
social, economic, and scientific impacts of
the inventions.
Create a timeline of significant events in
your inventor’s life.
